핵심 정리

가정법 현재는 제안, 요구, 명령, 필요성을 나타내는 말 뒤의 that절에서 동사원형을 쓰는 표현입니다.

구조: 주어 + 제안/요구 동사 + that + 주어 + (should) + 동사원형

I suggest that he go home. (나는 그가 집에 갈 것을 제안한다.)
She demanded that he pay the money. (그녀는 그가 돈을 내라고 요구했다.)

주어가 3인칭 단수여도, 주절이 과거여도 미국 영어에서는 동사원형을 씁니다.

1. 동사 뒤

5. 시제 일치를 하지 않는 이유

이 표현은 아직 일어나지 않은 일을 바라는 것이기 때문에 시제를 따르지 않습니다.

She insisted that he be on time. (○)
She insisted that he was on time. (그가 제시간에 왔다고 주장했다.)

뜻에 따른 차이

사실을 말하면 일반 시제를 씁니다.
