비교급은 둘 중 어느 쪽이 더 ~한지를 나타냅니다.
구조: 형용사/부사 비교급 + than

1. 비교급 만들기
| 단어 | 규칙 | 예시 |

| 1음절 | -er | tall → taller, fast → faster |
| e로 끝남 | -r | large → larger, nice → nicer |
| 단모음 + 단자음 | 자음을 한 번 더 쓰고 -er | big → bigger, hot → hotter, thin → thinner |
| 자음 + y | y를 i로 바꾸고 -er | happy → happier, easy → easier |
| 2음절 이상 | more + 원급 | more useful, more expensive |
| -ly 부사 | more + 원급 | more quickly, more slowly |
2음절 단어에서 -er과 more를 모두 쓰는 경우도 있습니다.
- clever → cleverer, more clever
- simple → simpler, more simple
early는 형용사에 -ly를 붙인 부사가 아니므로 more early가 아니라 earlier로 씁니다.

2. than 뒤의 형태

3. 열등 비교
'덜 ~하다' 는 less를 씁니다.

비교급으로 최상급 표현하기
- Tom is taller than any other student. (Tom이 가장 키가 크다.)
- No other mountain is higher than Everest.
- Nothing is more important than health.
