핵심 정리

비교급을 강조할 때는 much, far, a lot(훨씬)과 even, still(더욱, 한층 더)을 씁니다. very는 쓰지 않습니다.

1. 강조어의 뉘앙스

얼마나 차이가 나는지 나타내기

비교급 + by + 숫자 He's older by three years. 그는 세 살 더 많다.
수사 + times + 비교급 It's three times bigger. 그것은 세 배 더 크다.

2. more 앞의 강조

many + more + 복수명사 There are many more people.
much + more + 불가산명사 There is much more water.

수량을 나타낼 때 much와 many를 구분합니다.

  • I need much more time.
  • I need many more books.
  • far more 는 둘 다 쓸 수 있습니다.
